WFMW-Trying to Conceive Part 3

The first installment of trying to conceive is here. This talks about the signs of ovulation and your best chances of getting pregnant.

The second installment is here and is about journaling your journey.

Be sure to come back next week for the fourth installment. You wouldn't think I'd have this much to say, huh? I mean we all know how to, you know, GET pregnant, but we all don't seem to be getting pregnant. Know what I mean?

Today I'm going to talk about secondary fertility signs. (I will be using information primarily from Taking Charge of Your Fertility but also from things other women, including myself, have observed. I considered letting you think I was this ultra-genius and just figured all this out for myself...but a few days on my blog and you would have figured it out. HEY, I meant that I was a genius. How rude.)

Moving on...

Some secondary signs of fertility (aka: ovulation):

Midycle spotting (This could be due to implantation...but try not to get too excited and if you do try not to blame me.)

Pain or achiness near the ovaries

Increased libido (God designed us to desire relations during this time, you might as well take advantage of it by doing it every day, dontcha think? Your husband does, I can guarantee it.)

Bloating

Increased energy levels

Decreased energy levels

Emotionality: crying, mood swings, etc. (This sounds like pregnancy.)

Heightened sense of vision, smell and/or taste (YEP, just like when you are pregnant.)

Increased sensitivity in breasts, nipples, and/or skin (Again, with the pregnancy.)

Breast and nipple tenderness

See why it's so important to KNOW when you are ovulating? Otherwise you might think you are pregnant and start testing, only to get negatives and miss your window. Ask me how I know!!!! If you have really long cycles, or are postpartum, you may think you are pregnant, or about to start, when really you are about to ovulate.

Once you learn your body, you will know which of these signs are normal for ovulation for you and which aren't. God plays a funny joke on us, huh? Premenstrual, ovulation and pregnancy CAN all be alike...unless you watch the signs, make note of it and learn yourself. (NOT that way, people.) But remember, what may be a sign for me, may not be for you.

So what about you? Do you have any of these ovulation signs? What about different ones?

I have decreased energy, increased smell, easily crying over sappy commercials and sore nipples. And some really, really weird thing....I have to pee, A LOT. You know how right after you give birth you have the sudden urge to pee and if you don't make it to the toilet RIGHT THEN, you don't make it all. I'm sorry to give away this wonderful part of childbirth for all of you still working on number one...but the fact is, sometimes pee runs down your leg. I'm just saying that when I'm ovulating, I may have a little puddle. Not a big one, mind you, just a little one. Don't know why. I promise not to tell, if you do. Be our little secret.

I think these posts are great, and will be very helpful to gal's TTC. I heard if you "do it" everyday the spermies are not up to par, but every other day ... We had to do this task every other day the whole month to get #1 because my Ovulation etc was so far off!

:)

Now i am watching for ovulation signs, so I wont get pregnant. when a person is breastfeeding it sure makes it hard to notice some signs...

Um, no... I've never peed myself even a little; not after babies 1, 2, or 3. let's not go into why or why not, and just not talk about it again ; )
and well... come on.... how long until you test? or have you tested already????

I am also TTC. Ovulation is pretty obvious for me with cramps, etc! But after reading your 1st post, I'm thinking of taking my temps... maybe I'm off about ovulation times:)

EVen in the PMS and negative preggo tests, I'm thankful for my sweet 3 blessings... and I'm learning how to contentedly wait on the Lord for another blessing!!

I actually have all those symptoms every month. My husband and I have been trying off and on for over 10 years.

Now, I just take the attitude if it happens, it happens. Kind of scary since it's been 17 years since I last got pregnant!

This brings back some memories for me...we struggled with infertility and I remember like it was yesterday everything I went through to detect ovulation. I even had an ovulation monitor as a way to double-check all my secondary symptoms. I was a woman on a mission.

I can totally relate to the whole peeing thing. After 2 sets of twins, I can pretty much guarantee that anytime I sneeze, laugh or cough suddenly, I will pee in my pants a little bit. Gross, but true.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today!!

So finally, someone admits to having to pee a lot...and maybe I exaggerated a little...but NOT much. BUT COME ON Holly...you never have a little leakage????

I hope everyone puts these TTC tips in action and we all get to be pregnant together.
