Writer's workshop-My bosom friend

1.) A book (or tv show … or something) that you watched/loved as a kid, that you see through entirely different eyes as an adult/mom.

2.) If you could witness (or take part in) any event in history, what would it be? Why?

3.) What made them so interesting? Remember a unique classmate from your past. Write about him/her.

4.) Show us something you’ve created for Halloween, anything qualifies…costumes, recipes, crafts, party invites, treats, decorations etc..

5.) “Keep your face to the sunshine and you can not see the shadow” – Helen Keller
In what ways are you able to stay positive about something that sometimes brings you down?

“Keep your face to the sunshine and you can not see the shadow” – Helen Keller
In what ways are you able to stay positive about something that sometimes brings you down?

So Mama Kat  has given me permission to complain.  What?  What's that?  That's not what she meant. Drats.
Well there goes my blog post.

Okay, I'll cheer up. After all, you took a minute to come over here and see what I was up to.  I'm fine now.  Thanks.

So let's see.  How do I stay positive?  Pint of whiskey.  No, no.  That's not it.  Chocolate.  No. Oh, okay, yes it is.  But that's not the answer you were looking for.

I'll tell you something that really brings me down.  I'm through joking around, for a minute at least, and I'm going to bear my heart.  (Seriously.)

I often get sad/down/lonely because I don't have a best friend besides Jeff.  Now don't get me wrong.  He's amazing.  In every possible way a great guy. But I want a best GIRL friend.

Someone who will call me to tell me her baby (and she has to LOVE babies, obviously) just waved bye-bye for the first time and miraculously (since our babies are the same age because we both love babies) mine did too.  AND she cares!

Someone who'll read my favorite book and talk and obsess over it.

Someone who loves Survivor. I mean, doesn't everyone.

But not JUST Survivor.  All my favorite shows.

And someone who will come over and help me clean when we have company coming.  AND she doesn't care how messy it is because she has six kids too and her house is just as messy.

Someone who will come over and make my family dinner when I'm sick (even though I never get sick, and even if I did get sick the world doesn't stop for a sick momma) so I can lay in bed and get better.

Someone who will make numerous freezer meals for when a new baby comes so I can lay on the couch for two weeks and do nothing but nurse.

Someone who ACTUALLY comes over.  And goes to eat with  me.  And goes to the movies with me.

Someone who will never talk bad about me or let anyone else.

And will talk and debate and laugh and giggle with me all the time.

And....and...she has to like my kids.

Whew.

So see. I get sad that I don't have a bosom friend.

But then I realize that I have a lot of friends.  And while none of them are all of the above, all of them are most of the above.

I also pray.

Then I blog and all you wonderful people cheer me up.  So tell me. Am I the only one?  Or do you sometimes feel this way too?

I can fix that. When you're done in Singapore, come to California. WITHIN 5-10 minutes of me!
I don't have 6 kids, but my 3 are plenty messy. And well, everything else we can work on. I'd even watch Survivor with you. I would.
I could use a best girl friend, too. <3 you!

Wow - did I write this blog?....
Just when I thought I was the ONLY one in the world without the whole BFF thing going on.
I have 6 kids - that's usually where the friendship begins to end LOL.
I also sometimes feel badly for my hubby or my daughter (she's 19) because I probably rely on them to be my friend more than I should. (I don't do the whole mom trying to be 19 thing....but she knows she can talk to me about anything...it just wouldn't be healthy both ways..."your dad said blah blah blah and made me giggle" - that I WOULD say to a "bestie" lol)or "hey I bought plus size sexy wear" - don't want to scar her :)
I've NEVER had a friend with as many kids. NEVER had one willing to come clean my house (or one I wouldn't have to wonder if she was telling everyone how AWFUL a mom/housekeeper/wife I was...)
Never had one who didn't do the "hollier than thou" if asked something REAL and religious. - (Please don't ALWAYS tell me to pray before I bite my hubbys head off - lol - it's been 25 years of marriage I'm just perfecting this) lol (wink)
I love your blog.
You are REAL
Thank you Thank you Thank you for sharing :)
signed...your evil twin across the world...

I feel the same :) I've never been one to have lots of friends and tend to put a LOT into the relationships I do have. I really haven't made any BFF after moving to TX but have a few friends with kids to play with.

I would love to have a BFF that lived near me. I know I depend on my husband too much in that area. But he doesn't mind.
