Advent - 23 days to go

I've gotten almost all my Christmas shopping done. Can you believe that? I'm so much better at this than you are. Kidding, just kidding. But seriously, I have only to buy two gifts for my dear husband, who gets the same boring things year after year after year...clothes. Yep, I can announce it one here, because not only does he get the same boring thing, he wants to pick them out. What's a wife to do?

I still have a few little things to add to my oldest daughters present, which I'm looking forward to doing since it's such a fun one. But of course, I can't tell you, since I know she's squeezing the computer screen right now hoping I'll tell. She hates surprises.

I even found something super cute for my mother in law, who is VERY hard to buy for.

So just three gifts and a whole lot of stuffing stockers. Stocking stuffers are a BIG deal in our house. I'll give you a run down on another day.

Today's Advent activity:

Write a letter to tell someone how much they mean to you.

I love this activity. How often do we take the time to JUST write a letter expressing our feelings for someone? We just don't. These kinds of things should be done all the time, but at least we make an effort at Advent to include them.

Imagine going to the mailbox and finding a letter, telling you how important you are to someone, and how thankful they are for you. Nice, huh?

Even if you aren't doing Advent with us this year (though it's not too late to join in) I challenge you to send that letter. You'll feel good that you did it...and someone will have a smile all day. And they just may "pass it on".

I'm stopping over from SITS and was drawn by your Advent title. I'm thinking I am missing something for your countdown and am going to poke around on your site. I am also going to write a letter today. That's such a lovely idea. A blessed Advent to you and your precious family

Hubby and I decided not to exhange actual gifts this year, just stuff stockings with little things. Save some money, since we're not only flying to AZ for Christmas, we're also buying people presents here and taking them with us!

By the way...it was a no go on the Jingle Bell dance. He hurt his back at work, so he spent the night with a hot pad, moaning something along the lines of, "I'm dying...". Ah, men.

Neat idea!!! Keep them coming! I love them all! We did a jingle bell dance last night! Just the kids and I.
The pics, no I didn't take them! One of these years. Hubby did promise to take me there!! It's Chile!

Ugh, I'm tres jealous. I have so much shopping left to do. Even though we decided to scale back on gifts, I still have some little things to pick up. And I think that letter suggestion is just lovely. I think I will do just that!

My husband already bought his own Christmas present. For real! He wanted a toy and he wanted to play with it all season so I said, "Have at it!" I'll get him a little something else but I'm almost through too. We can sit back and sip cider or lattes!

Wow! Christmas shopping is done already...won't the kids change their minds like 20 times before the big day, LOL!

I love the letter idea, I think I might just do that for my dad, his birthday is coming up soon.

God bless Michelle!

I'm done with Christmas gifts. Well, I should get something for my parents, but maybe I wont so I can be done before you : P
(evil laugh)

I even picked up a free advent house yesterday (then proceeded to forget it at my sisters work)
but I tell ya, next year.
I'm almost ready for next Christmas now...

Oh I'm a huuuge snail mail fan. I love writing them and getting them even more so I think your activity for the day is so sweet.

And geez, it seems everyone around here is all done with their shopping pretty much. Meanwhile, I've yet to start.
