Writer's workshop--Being Indestructable would be the best super power

Choose a prompt, post it on your blog, go to Mama Kat's and sign Mr. Linky. Be sure to sign up with the actual post URL and not just your basic blog URL (click on the title of your post for that URL). For good comment karma try to comment on the three blogs above your name!!

The Prompts:

1) If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?

I would go to so many places: Australia, Africa, Ireland, Canada...just so many places. I love to travel and would love to experience the entire world.

2) Moxie is defined as the ability to face difficulty with spirit and courage; bold energy. Describe a time when you showed moxie.

My life has been about showing moxie. Just read the poem I'm going to write.

3) Write a poem about a loved one who has shown you moxie. What have you learned from them?

You know I stink at this.

This is for my cousin who is valiantly and tirelessly receiving cancer treatments.

Kat, oh Kat
You are all that.
That cancer is going to leave
I do believe

When you start to party
Because you are so hardy
To celebrate winning
Even if your hair is thinning.

SO NOT GOOD at poetry.

4) If you were a super hero, what would your super power be and why?

5) A superhero can save you from what ails you....what is your request

I need a superhero to put gas in the van when I go to town in a little while. I hate pumping gas.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If you were a super hero, what would your super power be and why?

If I had to pick just ONE super power, I would pick mind reading. Imagine talking to your children and actually knowing exactly why they aren't going to obey what you told them to do, BEFORE they don't do it. Or this...you ask your husband to help you with something and find out what he's really thinking. OH wait, maybe I don't want to know what my husband is thinking. Never mind on that one.

I'd pick being able to transport through time. Imagine sitting on the couch, you're bored because you've read all your blogs in your blog roll. So you decide to jump forward ten years to see what life will be like. You get there and you are all fat, sitting on the couch, bored, reading all 200 blogs in your blog roll. Never mind on that one.

I KNOW, I KNOW. I would control the environment. Like when I'm really hot, like now, I would make it snow. Of course I live by a farmer, who invested all of his money from the Spring into his Fall crop. The snow may make it all die and then he lost all his money and I would be responsible. So, never mind on that one too.

Okay, I got it. Indestructible. I heal quickly. I have no idea how that would help me in day to day life, because it's not like vampires and werewolves are coming over regularly and challenging me to fights. But it's the best I could do on such short notice.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

What about you? You going to join me today? I love reading what you write and I love writers workshop and the two should go hand in hand.

Happy SITS day!! You are going to LOVE Breaking Dawn. I'm rereading the Twilight series now (I know, such a freak) before New Moon comes out in November. I'm currently on Eclipse so I'm hating Bella Swan all over again.

Congrats on the SITS spot! I came to you earlier this week from Cheapskate though. I can barely keep us above board with my three and my step son. You must have a secret sauce(which I want the recipe for) to manage 5 and another one on the way. Let me know how you feel when you learn who Jacob imprints on!

Congrats on being the feature presentation today! (Wow, I sounded like an old Disney VHS, that was creepy)

As for being indestructible, have you ever seen the tv series, Heroes? Very awesome, and there's a girl on there named Claire (Hayden Panetierre, prob. spelled wrong) that is indestructible. There's also a song by that name from Disturbed, but the show might be more up your alley...

Ah! Homebirth! My second daughter was a home, WATER birth. In Buenos Aires, no less. It was a wonderful, fun experience. Really. It was great. Okay, the police investigated me for illegally adopting my daughter . . . until we showed them the video. So that wasn't so fun. But the birth experience was great. My OB was great . . .I had an OB, a midwife, and a neo-natologist attending . . . plus my mom, her husband, MY husband, his secretary (in case I lost the ability to speak Spanish during labor), and the building concierge's son who was a film student and shot the video for us. After everyone left, we ordered empanadas.

That child is now 9 . . . Sorry I'm too old to have more (had her at age 40).

I love that you love being preggers! I have 5 kids myself but no more - I sold all that stuff on eBay - meaning that I got the good old tubes tied! I do have a blended family but they are all mine regardless.

You totally deserve your time in the spotlight! Twilight? The best ever, right? I actually stumbled upon a blog last night which then led me to an Etsy shop for Twilight inspired jewelry: http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=7978594

So many things! Enjoy your day and the babies - they're a handful and that's why we have two!

I always hate posting comments when there are 97 others before me... I feel drowned out. But I loved the poem I think poems should be fun. Well, really my favorite poem is the Highwayman which is hardly fun but I think I write poems best when they are meant to be silly. Your poem was very nice even if you don't think so. Serious with just enough silliness.

I'm intrigued by your blog, will definitely bookmark it and come back for more later.

Oh, I am SO WITH YOU ON THIS! To be able to read my dear Asia's mind....

Then again, Liv told her the other day:

"Hey Asia. I can read your mind!"

And Asia says, "Yeah? What am I thinking?"

Olivia responds, "DUH!"

Badumbum-cha!
