Writer's workshop--Five great things about school

Choose a prompt, post it on your blog, and go to Mama Kat's and sign Mr. Linky. For good comment karma try to comment on the three blogs above your name!!

The Prompts:

1.) My animals are making me nuts.

If by animals you mean children, then yes, that's true. But I did have a Dr Pepper last night and I'm more sane.

2.) List the 5 best things about the first day of school.

3.) Tell us about your crush.

It just so happens that I have a crush on my husband. He is handsome and strong and sweet and thoughtful. He's the best dad IN THE WORLD, just ask my kids. He thinks of everyone else first and himself last. He works hard ALL DAY LONG. And, oh yea, he is OCD about stuff and it cracks me up. A little known fact. If one side of his arm is wet, he has to lick the other. I hope he doesn't read this or he will tell all kinds of secrets about me.

4.) How did you break it?

I'm sure I sat on it.

5.) Show us a favorite summer craft.

If by craft you mean cute kids, then go here.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

List the 5 best things about the first day of school.

1. Using our schedule so there is less chaos and more work getting done.

2. Getting new school supplies and watching the kids go nuts with them.

3. Back to school pictures and interviews.

4. Back to school night and getting to see my nieces and nephew show off what they learned during the school year.

5. Knowing vacation is just two weeks away.

I love your remarks about Dr. Pepper...I feel the same way about Diet Coke. It is my only vice (thankfully, I've had others in the past)...and there are days when Diet Coke is the only thing that will make the day "complete".

What do I love about the first day of school? The peace and quiet that comes with it. I love my children but sometimes the summer gets long for me, and I am not even sure if it my kids or just the friends and the constant in/out of the front door that drives me completely insane. This year my kids are going to a new school. They are getting out of the public school (which I loved the one they were at, just not some of the kids) and heading to a private school where there daddy works so that will be nice. I am excited about that, as are they as well.

Hats off to you and those who homeschool. I used to think I wanted to do that, but have found I am just not organized enough or patient enough to be successful at it.

Very fun back to school favorites! I always loved the new school supplies too, especially that new, big, fat eraser!

And LOL at "I'm sure I sat on it"!

Those are some seriously cute kids.

Glad Dr. Pepper can provide some sanity for you. I guess that's why he's called a Doctor.

Just found you through Cheapskate mom's blog. Your blog title caught my attention, and I immediatly wondered if you were referencing the bible verse about your quiver being full. Sure enough, you are! :)

Just want to say looking at your side bar with all your kids pictures brought a smile to my face. You have a beautiful family.

I don't have kids...but I remember the first day of school all too well. I think the fall in general just feels like the future is full of promise, and it goes back to that first day of school and the fall season that followed it.

MMMM...Dr. Pepper, my favorite!!! It is an indulgence that I treat myself to only once in a while, so yummy!!

I don't want to think about the first day of school yet :( Loved having the kiddos home, our first day is September 8, one week to prepare.
