That's what so great about the blog world

One thing I've found that is so exciting about the blog world is how helpful it can be to those in need. I've seen thousands upon thousands of people pull together over the death of a precious baby. I've seen auctions bring in thousands of dollars. And I've even seen friends earn enough money to do something they needed to do medically.

Today I'd like to ask you to visit a friends blog and consider donating to her cause. If every person that read my blog today donated at least a dollar or two she would be over half way there.

Holly is an old friend from high school. We recently got in contact again through Facebook. (Don't you just love facebook????)

She is a mom to many and homeschools. (And man, is she ever smart.) We discovered that we are a lot alike.

Her youngest daughter has microcephaly. Though she is 2 1/2 she functions on the level of a 7 or 8 month old.

Holly says:

We need to "raise money for a trip in June to California. Rachel's disability is microcephaly from ponto-cerebellar hypoplasia. She is 2 and a half but functioning at about a 7 or 8 month old level. The top doctor in the USA is going to be speaking there as well as seeing patients for a thorough diagnosis. We have already sent all her records and MRI scans to him in the mail, and he has given the above diagnosis through that, but there is nothing that would compare to seeing her in front of him. Plus, there is the aspect of having our other children see and meet kids who have siblings just like Rachel. There will be speakers for them as well. So this will be an entire family event, going to California in our van. It is about 1500 miles from here, so we will be taking it slowly. Don't forget we have a 3 year old as well, LOL! It makes me nervous just thinking about it, but it is truly something we need to do."

Now as an incentive to give, I am going to have a drawing for a $10 gift card to American Eagle. Bribery works every time. (This isn't a regular gift card but more like a coupon, however there is no expiration date and no amount you have to spend....you just take $10 off whatever.) Now I know I am the worlds worst contest holder. I know. BUT, hear me out. This is a card. I can stick it in an envelope and mail it with a stamp. OR OR OR, if you plan to shop online I can just send you the code. It's win, win people.

So here is all you have to do. For every dollar you donate I will enter your name once in the drawing. (Because every dollar gets her closer to CA.) Just post here that you donated, post on her site or email either of us.

And remember, the goal is to help her, so be generous.

Holly took this at Frontier City...try not to notice how fat I am and just notice how cute Asa is.

Is this the cutest picture of Kati?

Look how handsome her son is.

This is Holly after a roller coaster ride. I'm sure she loves me posting this!
