Frontier City 2009

This was our fifth year to go to Frontier City, in OKC, for homeschool day. Each year I have either been pregnant, or in off years, I was wearing a baby and nursing...that makes this year pregnant. We also celebrated Ashlea's 18th birthday. Join me as you enjoy our day with us.

Here is Ashlea opening one of her presents. It's a gorgeous butterfly ring I bought off Etsy. I also want you to note the candy bar Millicent is opening. She bought two for Ashlea. It just so happens that one of them was for her, so she was getting a head start on eating them.

Isn't she pretty! And now an adult.

I don't know what was so funny, but probably something Millicent said. I mean, just look at her face, you can see something is up!

Before you report me to CPS, she WANTED to ride this because Ashlea and Hannah were going to ride it. Fortunately, this was before the ride started so we were able to get her off. But not before I took a picture, of course.

Look how cute Millicent looks. She loves the carousel. Double fun was that Ashlea and Hannah were riding with her.

Here is Asa enjoying his very first ride ever. Seems indifferent. Jeff looks like he's having fun.

Of course, our annual family picture. Well maybe, it wouldn't seem so obvious to you unless you read Jeff's blog. Otherwise this will be the first ever Frontier City annual family photo. An interesting anecdote about our family pictures is that they change every year too. Yes, of course, as we add new kids. But one year we had two precious foster children. And this year we have Hannah. HANNAH, don't you love this picture? I chose this one on purpose because you were making faces about having to have your picture taken with us.

AH! They are BOTH so cute! We were waiting to get on the cars while Ashlea and Hannah were sitting down. Ashlea came over and snapped this. He's so happy to see her.

The brave people who don't get freaked out by the swaying of the ferris wheel, no seatbelts and open door that can swiftly drop you to your death, went to ride it. Meanwhile we stayed behind and snapped pictures. Millicent absolutely adores Ashlea, as you can see here.

More of the same.

Do you have any idea how hard it is to get this good of a picture of two teenagers? I have the answer. Are you ready? This is DEEP. PUT IT ON YOUR BLOG! Somehow they magically start smiling and acting right.

This is the third time Ashlea rode the dragons with Millicent. This picture is a little blurry, but you can see her glee. You may have read yesterday's post where Millicent mentioned the dragons. This is what she was talking about. The dragons were just right, however the log ride wasn't so fun. She started saying she didn't like this ride and that next time she was going to stay with mommy.

Here they are again. Wow, who knew Ashlea loved the dragon ride so much.

Here is another annual picture. We actually wait until we are leaving the park. It's always fun. It's dark and past bedtimes. Last year Kori was holding Millicent up because she really didn't want to be in the picture. Meanwhile Millicent was trying as hard as she could to get away from Kori and crying. This years picture looks almost normal.

And here I am with my kiddos on Mother's Day. Please note the baby doll that Millicent has and the pipe thingy that Asa has. They are so different.
