Happy birthday Asa

My handsome boy

Today Asa is two. WHERE did the time go? It was just the other day I was pacing behind the couch because he wouldn't stop crying, and no one else wanted to hold him, because he wouldn't stop crying. He never stopped. The minute you would lay the boy down he would start again. No sleep for the weary.

always climbing

But he's changed a lot over those first dozen months...oh yeah, it lasted a long time. We love him now, but we might have given him back. Who knew what a blessing a boy would be?

His favorite activities: running, falling, climbing, throwing and attacking. (But only boys.)

his favorite toy

Asa happens to be blessed with an older sister who is totally devoted to him and making him happy. She almost always shares everything with him. The same cannot always be said for Asa.

His favorite toys: his tractor, his barn and animals, and his various trucks....he also loves Mill's easel to write and erase on

He will occasionally bring Millicent his tractor and let her ride...but only for a minute. No one else is ever allowed to touch it.

being cute

He is so sweet. He smiles a lot now, and laughs and talks. And he gives many hugs and kisses during the day. He is very loving. He has us girls right where he wants us. We all cater to his hugs.

learning to sit up

It took him a long time to learn to sit up and crawl and walk and talk...but once he did he never stopped. Except for a break on mom's lap...which is pretty much the only time he slows down. Oh, he never stops wiggling, but at least he slows down. About half the day he is on top of me.

eating chalk

He's a special boy. No matter how many times he tries chalk, crayons, markers, paint, dirt and rocks, he still eats them.

I'm sure this had something to do with picking his nose

He's got a little sense of humor. If you tell him to quit picking his nose, he sees it as a challenge and does it more. Sometimes he likes what he finds and sometimes he wipes his "sticky" on me. Nice.

We love him so much. What a wonderful addition to our family. Sweet, cuddly, SO CUTE.

Happy Birthday Asa. (Even if you wont admit it's your birthday.)

Just love him! Particularly his optimism about carrying on eating stuff on the off chance it might start to taste nice! Apart from bogeys though, my second child is just the same, and the more I mention it the more he does it. Yuk. Happy Birthday! And Happy New Year.

Hey Michelle,

We have sons who share a birthday now. I had my baby boy on Monday. He decided to come the day before we were going to induce. He was 7 lbs 3 ounces and we named him Noah Grey. Labor and delivery were great and he is beautiful. Unfortunately though, they found an infection in his blood and he is in the NICU right now. I am going home today without him and am very sad about it, but they say he will be fine and can come home after 7 days if everything goes fine. We have never experienced any trouble like this with our other two births and I have been a bit overwhelmed by it, but God has it under control and I have to go home to my other little ones and try to pump and bring the milk up here.
Anyway, hope your birth happens soon too and is as painless as mine was and that your little one is healthy and strong.
