Advent - 21 Days until Christmas

We finally did our Jingle Bell dance last night. Yes, we OFTEN get behind in our activities. And that's fine. We catch up when we can. We also haven't mailed our letters or done our paper chains. I have to buy some construction paper. OOPS! So see, if you are behind but are thinking how fun, join us. You won't be any more behind than we are!

Today's activity:

Scavenger Hunt

Now technically, it's not a scavenger hunt, it's a treasure hunt. But we use the terms interchangeably around here. This is the one where you get a clue, that leads to a clue, that leads to more clues, that leads to a pot of gold. Or in this instance, a pot of toys from Walmart. I found a lot of cute, little Christmasy things, in the Christmas section at Walmart, for $1.00, so I bought about three per child.

This is our first year to do this particular activity for Advent. It should be fun though because we do scavenger hunts ALL THE TIME!

Our green and red dinner turned out okay. I'm not as creative as some of you. (Be sure to read yesterdays comments if you need some better suggestions.)

We went with:

Hot dogs with ketchup (hey, the hot dogs were almost red...we use the Hebrew National)
Green beans
Kettle BBQ chips (which are red but are natural)
Strawberries

Then later I remembered I had apples and pickles and we could have had Sprite. Oh well. I'm pregnant. That's my excuse.

If you decide to do the hunt today, be sure and leave us some clues so the rest of us don't have to think so hard. Thanks, pal.

I love your Activity Advent. What a lovely idea and I am sure your kids love it. Thanks for stopping by my site today. (Homers is a the Simpsons tv show reference. I live with a boy. I can't help it.)

The last time I participated in a Scavenger Hunt was in high school...

It was Homecoming, and you had to find certain things from the students in your class to win. I was/am one of those girls that carry crazy weird items in their purse. I contributed like...half of what they needed. One of them was the black comb from picture day the month before. You know, the little cheap ones? Yeah, don't ask...

Have fun!
