Writer's workshop--My summer is dull in comparison, or is it?

1.) What's ailing you? Diagnose yourself with a syndrome.

It's called pregnancy people. And it's rough.

2.) Share with us something you made by hand.

If you will look to your right you will see several of them. I say several because they are not all biologically mine, meaning I didn't make them all. (Though I am forming them all.)

3.) Fess up. Tell us what you found after a spying on someone.

WHAT? Spying is wrong and mean and just...just...wrong and mean. So when I do it I make sure that no one sees or hears me and there is NO WAY I would tell about it on my blog. Are you kidding?

4.) "How are y'all doing it? This summer, I mean? I cannot remember ever being as busy as we've been over the past two months. Those of you who are blogging daily, being as witty and entertaining as ever...I beg of you...HOW?"

5.)What are you afraid of?

I have to honestly say that I'm not afraid of anything. Don't hate. I just leave all my fears in God's hands. And plus, frankly, I have a really great husband who also makes me feel completely safe and comfortable.

The Bible says, "Fear not, for I am with you."

Jeff says, "Don't worry, I'm right here."

So what do I have to fear?

------------------------------------------------------------

"How are y'all doing it? This summer, I mean? I cannot remember ever being as busy as we've been over the past two months. Those of you who are blogging daily, being as witty and entertaining as ever...I beg of you...HOW?"

I hear people say---I'm so busy. I just don't get it. Why not slow down?

I know that sounds so simple. Like, hey idiot, the reason you keep getting ran over is because you keep crossing the street while cars are going. Why not stop walking?

But yeah, it's like that. Why not just stop?

Life is as slow or fast paced as you make it.

Sometimes we'll find ourselves over involved. Guess what we do? We stop. We quit some things. We give some things up. We find more time at home. That's all you have to do.

Hey, who knows the answer to this question? Do kids need to be stimulated, played with and run to and fro all day long? NO. The answer is a big fat green NO. They don't.

Kids can play outside, they can ride their bikes, they can swim in a blow up pool that is so tiny that they would cry if they knew how tiny it was, they can read books (OH GASP! READ???????), they can do crafts, play with their siblings (NOT FRIENDS??? NEVER!), watch nature, catch lightening bugs, go camping and swimming at the lake.

Kids do not have to go to the pool every day, or well, that's all I can think of. That's how relaxed our lives are. I cannot even fathom what you are doing in a day, during the summer, that would make your life so hectic. I get why it gets that way during the school year....but again, it doesn't have to be that way. I'll preach to you again when school starts and you start lamenting your lack of time.

Here is a better question. How are you making REAL memories, this summer, for your children? Memories that when they are an adult will make them tell stories to their children...and repeat those traditions. That's what it's really all about.

So do tell. I can never have enough of those.

Aww..this is great Michelle! I love that you don't have any fears. I suppose my fear of not being a mommy is something I need to completely give up to God too. Thank Him for taking all of our fears away. Now, do you think He could just eradicate spiders too?

Great outlook on like and busyness too...you have such a wonderful peace about things.

God bless you and your day!

A great blog. My only real fear is something bad happening to my children. But I guess that's any mother's fear.

I think I'll be a boring mom...I've never been one to go, go, go and be in this and that. I like to relax and maybe I'm just plain lazy, but I'm also not stressed out either! :-)

This pregnancy has been rough on me. I keep telling Prince Charming it is to make sure that this is my last one. LOL. He says it is to reassure me everything is fine in there until I get to see my baby on the U/S.

We're so busy right now I can't even see straight. The kids are getting out camping and doing their thing. My eldest daughter is even in Seattle right now. Most of our busy isn't of our own making though. We've ended up with this carpenter ant problem and have had to haul down fence and deck and walls and ..... Lordy, i can't keep up. Now I'm preparing for the exterminator, which is a huge task, and heading out to the lake to join my family for the weekend then back to finish preparing for the Monday morning exterminator, last day of work, then starting a new full time job on tuesday.

Sucks, i tell you. sucks.

But, hey! On a lighter note, I got my razors!! Woot Woot!! I'll be tooting your horn next week! Thanks so much!

We're not busy. But I decided sometime this week I don't wanna be STAY at home mom. Just a 'I take care of my kids myself, thankyouverymuch' mom.
I don't particularly like being home, all day. But part of that is the lack of a backyard cuz the dogs had taken over it. But oh, this is getting long, maybe I better blog about it....
anyway.
Disneyland.
That's my answer. Not to being busy, but to having fun, making memories.
Lorelei saying "I'm out of here!" on the snow white ride cuz the evil queen says Mwahhh hahahaha!!!
Lorelei not wanting to ride pirates, or hiding her face behind me when she is sitting next to me when , yes, I make her ride ANYWAY (so maybe that will be a bad memory for her, but you weren't specific. Or were you?) All the kids loving SMALL WORLD. They love it! All these small these we get to do over and over and over and over, and for all I know, this may be the only summer/year they get to go to Disneyland all the time, and the girls are finally old enough to REMEMBER it : )
Non stressful, non busy fun family time

I don't know why, but your new posts aren't showing up on my blogger list. I have to come searching for them. And that bugs me.
I thought you hadn't blogged : (
I feel so left out -_-

I'm with you on not keeping kids busy all the time.

I think it makes them less creative.

Summer memories? Besides me going crazy?
