I had my (so far) only baby in a birthing pool in our kitchen, and I caught her myself - you're the only other person I've ever heard of who had that 'first to touch my baby' desire - and it was the most magical amazing experience of my whole life. I don't know how I would ever cope with a cs after that, because it's def put birth on a huge pedestal for me. I laboured for 48 hrs though, as she turned from back to front to back to back in the early hours of labour. For some reason, they can and DO turn.

I think it's as you say in your closing statement, Michelle, it would be best to avoid that initial CS if possible. I do think they're too quick to induce and then require emergency cs.

Natural birth is a bit of a soapbox issue for me. Although I agree that medicine has it's place, I believe that place is meant to be life saving, not a standard measure.

Thanks for sharing. My third (baby boy) I tried a VBAC but he was late and the doctor induced me. I was at a 9 but his heart wasn't beating properly so I had another c-section. It actually was a good thing because the doctor told me I had too much scar tissue to ever try a VBAC again. God saved us too. I was glad I tried but things might not have turned out right if I was able to go ahead with the VBAC. Thanks again I enjoyed Yarra's story.AmberRayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16728005918657858605noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-82594577966218198.post-67931305116450076742010-03-08T14:09:46.827-06:002010-03-08T14:09:46.827-06:00Thank you and Yarra for this story. Of course, a lot of t has to do with Kori an kati, but i actually read because I learn about a whole different world than teh one I live in everyday!
I don't know if anyone else has this issue, but I get confused when you use abbreviations. Because i have never had a home birth and won't (can't have anymore babies) I really get confused when you use acronyms. so, as a loyal reader I ask that you at least once in teh blog explain what they mean...like VBAC...?????? :)Tara H.https://www.blogger.com/profile/13795291142874449016noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-82594577966218198.post-12463862037396596212010-03-08T11:01:15.799-06:002010-03-08T11:01:15.799-06:00I'm stopping by after you stopped over last we...I'm stopping by after you stopped over last week (sorry...I'm so behind!).

What an amazing story, or well, actually three stories.
